VBCaroline
Dd is taking an online British Literature class with Melodee Mattson of Captive Thoughts Tutorials, and she is having a blast. The teacher is enthusiastic, the discussions are lively, students are supportive and encouraging of each other, and she gets good guidance and feedback on her assignments. Dd highly recommends one of Melodee's full year literature courses. They meet live for two hours every week. In the meantime, Ms. Mattson is offering a one-semester C.S. Lewis class this spring: http://www.captivethoughttutorials.com/cs-lewis-course/ Here's another link to a short blog post she wrote about last year's class: http://www.captivethoughttutorials.com/ctt-blog/2011/6/20/cs-lewis-creativity.html Ms. Mattson sent us this information about the class: This class is designed for all high schoolers; the reading assignments are shorter (for the most part) than my other high school classes and students do informal writing in a weekly journal rather than formal essays. In 18 weeks we'll only scratch the surface of Lewis's enormous output, but even so we'll get to study some of his Christian apologetics, spiritual fiction, science fiction, poetry, literary criticism, and children's fiction. There's lots of variety! Hope someone can take advantage of this!

lmrich
How would you count this on a transcript. Of course it sounds so great I would like to take it.
Krista in LA
My ds is taking her Intro to Lit class (he's in 8th grade) and loves it too. He's a bit of a slow reader so he's had a hard time keeping up some weeks with the reading assignments, but it's good for him. ;) He loves the on-line class each week when they discuss the reading.
