When you have overnight company coming...

Well, I only have one set of sheets which are on the bed. I will put them on the bed right after I wash them.

I like them as fresh as possible, too, but there is SO much to do for Thanksgiving, that I would rather do them ahead of time. But, they will be *ON* the bed. So, is a week too far ahead of time under my scenario?

If nobody is using the bed that week, I think it is fine.

As long as nobody SLEEPS in them, I don't see how a week could possibly matter.

Alternatively, you could leave them folded after laundry and just take a few minutes to make the bed that same morning.

I didn't have an actual guest bedroom for most of my married life, but since I have had one (ok...I have three guest rooms now), I wash the bedding after the last guest leaves and make up the bed right away, so that it's ready to go for the next, even if the guest shows up at the door at the last minute...which has never happened, but I'm prepared.

Whenever it was that I last washed them. If they don't smell fresh when I pull them out of the linen closet, I will rewash them the day I make up the bed. Otherwise, they are what they are.

I only have a sofa bed to offer, but I have a set off sheets just for it. I wash them after each use then put them on straight out of the linen closet when guests are coming.

I've done this too, especially when I had much smaller children and life was a lot more chaotic. However, if it's been a while between visits, I now worry that the sheets might be dusty (although given that it's a guest room that nobody goes in at all when we don't have guests, that's probably unlikely). I would have no qualms about having the bed made up a week or two before guests are due to arrive. Having people visit is about so much more than perfectly laundered sheets :D. I think most importantly guests want to enjoy the company of a happy and relaxed hostess, not someone who's totally frazzled running around aiming for perfection. But that's just me :001_smile:.
