RegGuheert
One of the things I really like about the iPads is that we can purchase an app once and then use it on all of the iPads or other iOS devices tied to our account, up to a maximum of 10. To my knowledge, there is no such concept of sharing apps available from Google's Android Market. But now we have two Kindle Fires arriving today and I realize that both will be tied to the same account in a similar way to how the iPads are tied to the same AppleID. So I'm wondering if Amazon didn't just create the Amazon Appstore for Android to restrict and monitor the content of their store, but perhaps they wanted to change the business model from the one that Google put in place for the Android Market to one that better suits Amazon's needs. So the question is this: If we purchase an app from the Amazon Appstore for Android, are we licensed to use it on all of the Kindle Fires and other Android devices which are associated with our account? Princess Peach
I think the answer is yes. From the FAQ at Amazon here : Can I share content with other Kindles? You can enjoy your Kindle content on Kindle devices or Kindle applications that are registered to your Amazon.com account. There may be limits on the number of devices (usually six) that can simultaneously use a single book. Subscriptions to newspapers or periodicals cannot be shared on multiple devices. You can see all your Kindle content and send downloads to your registered Kindles or Kindle applications from Your Kindle Library through Manage Your Kindle. RegGuheert
Thanks! I've always wondered why Amazon went to all the trouble to make the Amazon Appstore for Android when Google already had one. But this just might be one of the main reasons. It certainly was one important benefit Apple had over Android. We'll try this out once we get our Kindle Fires opened and running and I will let you know what we find. Now, where is that UPS man? :glare::toetap05:

I have 5 Fires upstairs, but can't do anything with them until dh gets them online. They'll all be tied to my account (in addition to my 2nd generation Kindle), so I'll love to hear anything you figure out that might help me :001_smile:!
