love2read
A chiropractor just recommended this and I'm wondering who has tried it? I'm hoping there are some youtube video demonstrations. Edited November 16, 2011 by love2read

Sandra in FL
I tried to get my ds (10 years old) to do them, but it's hard to do when he has difficulty breathing (panic). He's had some success with choline (750 mg per day during colds/500 mg when healthy) and oil of oregano (2 drops 3 times a day when he has a cold). I also pump up the vitamins (extra A, D via cod liver oil & C) during colds. N-acetyl-cysteine to thin mucous - 100 mg every 1 1/2 hours until late afternoon/early evening. He only had to have Xopenex twice (on waking) on this regimen during his last cold. Previously, he had to have Xopenex 3 times a day for the duration of the cold. He is not on any asthma medication when he's healthy.
TravelingChris
For the OP, I don't know about these exercises and in general, doing things to strengthen and expand your lungs is good. My dd plays trumpet and swims and that has definitely expanded her lung capacity and decreased how often she has asthma. However, a chiropractor should not be your primary doctor for asthma. Asthma is a serious disease and should be treated as such. With proper treatment fatality is very low but without it, it rises significantly. love2read
Oh, he's not her primary physician, she goes to an allergist.
Truscifi
I just googled and it sounds reasonable, but I've never tried it. The only thing that made me pause was that it encourages decreasing volume of breath as well as speed. I have always been told to breathe deeper but more slowly.
