Guest
Does anyone here use this? We are starting the VP OT/AE self paced courses this year, and I just recently discovered VP's bible too. It looks really good. Should I combine my 3rd and 4th grader together for bible? I think it would be great for us to do together in the morning. If I do combine....what level should I start them in? abrightmom
I'm not using it now but have dabbled in it. :001_smile: Yes, you can and should combine. You can start wherever you would like. VP Bible is straightforward Bible survey. There isn't integrated memory work and it doesn't include application like you'd find in a devotional type of study. I think the intent is to impart grammar stage Bible knowledge that lays a foundation for deeper logic stage study (Omnibus). I do think that if you use VP Bible your kids will have a thorough head knowledge of the Scriptures at their level. You can easily strive for the application on your own if you study alongside them. I'm seriously considering it as the spine of our homeschool Bible study. I love surveying the Scriptures for the big picture and VP seems like a good way to do that with elementary aged kids. I'd add something devotional or topical as well as Bible memory work. :001_smile:

It is great for what it is, but it may not be what you are looking for.
MeghanL
Since you are doing OT/AE I'd hold off on the Bible until next year. There is *so* much repetition between OT/AE & Genesis - Joshua that you only have about 7 unique bible cards. Everything else is covered in history. The subsequent history/bible programs don't have much overlap, so that would be a better time to start.
