Why does my lefty write so slowly?

And I mean SLOW. He just finished four notebook lines, and it took 20 minutes. Any ideas to help him speed up?

My lefty has always been a slower writer than the others. Through the years he has become faster but is still slower in comparison. No advice; sorry. :grouphug:

I dunno. I have a righty for whom that would be a good timeframe to finish four lines in! Makes me want to bang my head sometimes.

I don't know that it is due to being a lefty. My son is a lefty and I haven't noticed his writing to be slower than expected.

 

But, I do let him write on the 'wrong' side of the page so the binding doesn't interfere with his hand. It takes some adjusting to when it comes to correcting his work but it is worth it to me. Oh, and I often copy pages from workbooks if it is awkwardly placed. Makes things much easier.

I don't know. DSS and I are both lefties, and we aren't slow writers. Our writing isn't all that pretty but that's another story. Ds is a righty, and is slow as molasses even now at 14. If you figure out how to help him speed up, please post it. ;)
