Stillwood
Since dual enrolled students are liminted to 2 classes, can a student audit an extra class?
regentrude
Since dual enrolled students are liminted to 2 classes, can a student audit an extra class? Ask the college. And be aware that often auditing a course incurs the same tuition fee as being enrolled for a grade.
Myeightkiddies
I agree. You'll need to ask the college. This type of policy will vary depending on the college.
Elizabeth in WA
I agree. You'll need to ask the college. This type of policy will vary depending on the college. I'll third that. Dual enrolled students here can go full time for credit.
choirfarm
At our cc, once they have proven themselves, they can take 3 or 4 classes a semester. Just ask!
Beth S
I wouldn't bother with auditing, unless you think it will prepare them for an AP or CLEP test. We pushed the advisor (a friend) at our local cc and got special permission for our teen to take more than 6 hours. (Her 2 classes added up to 7 hours.) We had to get the professors' permission before enrolling, and her standardized test scores were very high. She had already taken 2 classes (in spring/summer of her Junior year). Remember, college grades are permanent, and the college administration (and you as your child's guidance counselor) don't want the student to fail (or drop out) . . . and if you have a college-bound high-schooler, you really want him to get straight A's.
