switching from TT Math 5 to CLE Math?

I do not know if anyone has ever made the switch from TT Math to CLE after completing the full TT 5 course, but do you think that CLE 4 would be appropriate to start with, but maybe working at a more acclerated pace?

Take the placement test. CLE can be accelerated by doing the new sections of each lesson and skipping the "We Remember" review sections. My oldest has had a rough time in math. Last year (5th grade), I took her through Math Mammoth levels 1-4a. She needed that solid foundation. She switched to CLE 500 this year. She is on track to finish 500 by Christmas and start 600 in January. I'm very pleased with her understanding and progress.

I agree. It is imperative to have your child take the free placement test AND to start at the level they place. CLE is advanced compared to TT by a great deal. We accelerate by doing an extra lesson on quiz days (lessons 5 and 10) and working math 6 days a week.

Just by looking at the CLE placement test it seems that he would place into CLE 4. Obviously there are some things he has already learned in TT this past year and Saxon last year, that will be in CLE 4, but on the other hand, there are other things in CLE 4 that my ds has never encountered before that I think would benefit him from starting him in CLE 4. We could speed through what he already knows really well, which would be his times and division tables along with some other things. Thanks so much for your help!
