MeaganS
I know they are apparently very controversial on this forum ;). I need a higher quality crock pot and we have some extra money in our Christmas budget. I would use it 2 or 3 times a week, mostly for beans or soups, but occasionally for meat. Mine isn't very consistent with its temperatures and just seems cheap all around. We got it for our wedding and I think it is the generic Walmart brand or something. Anyone have a higher quality one that they love? ETA: It doesn't need to be ridiculously huge either. We have a smaller family that doesn't eat a ton. An average-sized one would be fine. Vanna
I'm actually looking to buy this one this week to replace a similar model I've had for years and years (but recently, one of the handles broke into pieces and the company said they don't offer replacements for my model). I like the 6QT size, I like that it's programmable and I esp. like the clasps on this newer model for "movable feasts." :D

Well, maybe last year's version. It's used several times a week and I'm always happy with the results. I LOVE the feature that turns it to warm when the cooking time is completed. I use that all the time when I have to work all day.
Hilltop
My mom really likes this one, which is on sale right now at Costco. My crock pot is 14 years old and does not have any special features. It hasn't been very reliable lately so I am planning to upgrade soon. Mrs Twain
I'm lurking on this one since I need a new crockpot myself.

crazyforlatin
This is exactly what I wanted to ask yesterday because I just got the Crock Pot that is discounted at Costco, as posted by PP. One reviewer says that it gets very hot on the outside and if you look at a similar one on Amazon.com, the reviews seem to say the same thing. Is this common among all Crock Pots? twoxcell
I have an Aroma Rice Cooker that I bought at Costco, and it can be used as a slow cooker, or steamer also. It works great and cooks much faster than my old Rival crock pot. I tried to find it on Amazon so I could put a link but they didn't have the exact one I own. I've never experienced that w/my Rival Crock Pot. If I had any complaints about it, it would have to be that the darn handle broke after about a decade of use. We put duct tape on it, but it wasn't long till that started coming off and it's just for the reason of safety that I'm going to buy a new one.;)

KS_
I ended up buying this: http://www.amazon.com/Nesco-4816-12G-6-Quart-Porcelain-Cookwell/dp/B003I4F6NG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321452344&sr=8-1 instead of a regular crockpot. It's wonderful - you can set it for very low up to 425F, and much more versatile than my crockpot, but still can be used for the things I used my crockpot for. The liner is metal and not a heavy ceramic, but for what I've used it for (meats, soups, etc.) it's worked out great.
