southernm
DD 4 is all girl. She loves to draw, color, write "pretend" stories. She seems to be a fairly average learner. She loves to do the work packets from homeschool creations. I have tried OPGTR with her but it does not keep her attention. She has MCP phonics plaid k and it's ok. Are there any programs that are workbook style with cute graphics and activities? She would need to start at the very beginning with letter sounds! LittleIzumi
ETC and AAS work well for my VSL girl. ETC has the fun pictures and is workbook-based (and dd draws on the pictures when she's done), and AAS is multi-sensory (we do it on a white board, which dd loves, and then she draws after). southernm
I was thinking ETC. I just started it with DS 6 at level 2. It's on the right track but I'm hoping for something more visually appealing. I will check out AAS too! Thanks!
southernm
:bigear:Anyone else? I would like to find something you might describe as "cutesy".
5Wizards
You might want to look at McRuffy SE Phonics for K. It's colorful, has games, etc... http://www.mcruffy.com/Kindergarten-Phonics.htm

Chris in VA
I'd also look into making her a set of object boxes. Google Montessori object box and see how cute and fun they can be! I ordered my sets (in plastic bags, here, and baskets...) from Ebay. They are basically groups of tiny objects--a tiny baby for B, a tiny cat for C, etc. There are tons of things you can do with them, and manipulating the little cute things is really fun and attractive. It has workbook activities and card games and word-changing sliders.
