(I prefer Barilla or Creamette.) 2 tablespoons oil 1 (12oz) can evaporated milk 1 1/2 cups milk 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (I prefer Sargento.) 1/4 cup melted butter Spray Crockpot with non-stick cooking spray. Toss cooked macaroni and 2 tablespoons oil. Add all remaining ingrediants. Pour into the greased Crockpot. Stir well. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. Stir occassionally. Mrs Twain
Thanks for this recipe! I always make my mac n cheese with real cheese, but my recipe takes soooo long and involves lots of steps. This would be a nice, quick, weekday version. I am wondering if you could substitute regular milk for the evaporated milk? I'd love to try it this week, but I don't have any evaporated milk handy.:001_smile:
missmoe
Evaporated milk is a substitute for cream. I've found whole milk, half and half, and cream work well as a substitute for evaporated milk.

missmoe
Tex-Mex Chicken and Beans is really quite good! This does sound good. I like that it starts with dried beans--one less step.
