A slightly nerdy way to handle youtube lectures...

Recommended Posts

Conversation in our house just a moment ago:

"What'chya doin?"

"Gonna listen to Cradles of Civilizations with an African Overlay with CC and noise block on.."

"Oh.":001_unsure:

"Geez, come here, lemme show you.."

(Slapping headphones on 8 year old...)

About three minutes into it...

"Mom, is this how you get your brain so puffy?"

"Ya."

"I like it."

Okay, this is easy, but fun. And this is how I listen to youtube lectures.

Gear:

1.

Bose noise canceling headphones-turn them on, it's best this way.

2.

Open a ambient track like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8iKcdh5Ims&feature=related (It's an hour plus, not likely to run out of time, but just in case (or if you have a shortie sound ya like, set to repeat play.

(Just google how to do this, it's super easy)

3. Adjust musical track loudness.

4. Open lecture (this guy is great for example, he's so super-nerd he's hot..(in an intellectual way :) ) http://www.youtube.com/user/DrDavidNeiman?feature=mhee#p/a/215B9C7C2176D85C/0/TEow07oohUo

5. Hit the CC (caption showing) button.

Now play them all at the same time.

Is that a heck of a mental martini or what? :)

Fun! I will have to try that. And way to model lifetime learning to your kid. But no, that man is not hot. No way, no how.
