Bang!Zoom!
Mine is calling. Beckoning me..."Come, rest for a while.." You have Mom Cave Days? (Weeks?) I think I'm ready to check in for a while.
elegantlion
Yes. My cave is the classroom. At some points I close the door with just me and the dog allowed inside. I did that last weekend, reminded dh I loved him, but I needed some quiet. At other times I escape to the bedroom and work. The bed is more comfy than my office chair. MariannNOVA
Yup, I do. Right now I am okay, but the need for 'isolation' can hit me at any time. I did stay up and was peacefully alone from 11pm last night till 3am today. I think that sometimes my 'cave' is more of a time of day than a particular location.;)

But when I do this I feel like I usually pay for it the next day. Laura
MindyD
On the advice of a friend, I've got a babysitter to come every Thursday night (dh works evenings). Right now my favorite hide out is Barnes and Noble. :)
Bang!Zoom!
So there I was, approaching the entrance, I saw a pink fluffy couch, a tray of bon bons, Air Supply was playing softly in the air, the room smelled of Chanel 5, a white robe hanging from a sterling silver hook, the floor covered in lambswool tufting, pillow scattered with golden sequins, and a basket from Bath and Bodyworks loaded with Vanilla Musk on a side table.... And then I woke up. Did six loads of laundry. Rewrote house rules in Black Sharpie Thick Marker. Took out four bags of trash. Redid all the school books. Cleaned out four closets. Put away all the summer clothing. Went through all the months receipts. Cleaned out the vaccuum cleaner inside and out. Sorted out all the art supplies into categories. Detangled a bag of necklaces. Found 3 missing DS chips. Cleaned out two bathrooms...including the hairbrushes. And rehomed about four hundred pieces of KNEX blocks back to the box. Artfully arranged seven hundred stuffed animals in color range order on the shelves. Replaced all the barbies shoes. Planned crockpot meals for next week. Washed the sneakers. Found the Winter coats and gloves.... and painted my nails in 3 coats of red at the end to congratulate myself for surviving it all. And it's not even 12:30 - birthday party circuit starts at 2:30 until 7 tonight....and it's not even my kids birthday. Caves. It sure sounded good this morning....if any of you guys make it into one...stay there a while. Send me a postcard ey? :D
Cassy
I think that sometimes my 'cave' is more of a time of day than a particular location.;) I was thinking the same thing just before I read your post. I'm having a 'cave' hour or so just now. I'm feeling hormonal, have spent the day vacuuming, mopping, cooking and organising all the junk that people have left all over the house all week. I feel shattered, and the kids are wild and noisy. I should be sitting down with everyone to watch 'Green Lantern', but I need solitude and quiet time. Just now I'm sat with my laptop at the kitchen table, (it's warm in here), but my bedroom's a lovely sanctuary too.
Mrs Mungo
Bathtub is about the closest that I get, and I am not completely safe there.
Remudamom
I go to my tack/carriage/chicken house. The front is all saddles and pony vehicles, the back is two rooms with chicken wire walls so I can see my birdies. All my stuff in there, all arranged like I want it, no one messes with any of it. misidawnrn
Mine is my sewing room. No kids allowed unless invited by mom and then you must sit and quietly play with scraps of which I have a whole basket. Even the 2yo knows to sit and quietly cut scraps. My sister and her 2 (very noisy) kids have been living with me for 6 weeks now and I have resorted to my mom cave a few times!
