3monkeys
Just ran across this writing program and very intrigued! Anyone used it yet? Pros/cons?
Murrayshire
I am also very curious about this program for my 7th and 4th graders next school year!! Bumping up to get some opinions!:bigear:
sltress
It was recently reviewed by Cathy Duffy. You can see her review on her site. Sounds like she likes it.
DragonFaerie
This looks really good to me, too. It's on my short list for next year. I'd love to hear from somebody who's using it, though.

DragonFaerie
*sigh* Well, my kids have ruled this one out. DD looked at about 5 second of the video and turned up her nose. :glare:
matrips
we use it as one of our supplements- so it's on our schedule once a week. and we do one lesson- watch the video and do the related worksheets (or parts of them). My kids seem to like it fine. he covers some topics I probably wouldn't have covered yet on my own (but this is good) and we all do well learning from a short video lesson. I can certainly talk for a lot longer and yet not add more value! We modify the worksheets some- he often say to rewrite sentences correctly. Well, I think that is way too much handwriting (10-15 sentences!) and I just have my kids make the corrections. But we all like some of the more open ended parts of the worksheets where the kids have to think of sentences on their own (based on the current lesson) and write them. We're doing the 1st grade one. We skipped over the first 1/2 dozen lessons or so completely, but now stay on track.
WVNA
We are currently working our way through the first and third grade videos and overall, we've been very pleased with it. My wife and I are both math/science types so it was perfect for us. We like that it requires very little planning on our part to do language arts. My daughter in first grade has almost finished the videos and we are getting ready to order the second grade series for her. Also, I've emailed Matthew Stephens a few times with questions or comments and he has also been very good about replying to my emails. I should mention though that we do this series in combination with Writing with Ease.
Murrayshire
We use WWE as well for our middle dd....so happy to hear you do both together....Do you use Essentials everyday you use WWE or just certain days?.....We of course use WWE 4 days of the week as I'm sure you do the same...(I'm assuming.) Thank you!

Thank you! We do WWE 4 days a week as suggested and then EIW 3-4 days a week. I'm not sure about the higher grades, but if you do EIW 3-4 days a week, you will easily finish in a typical school year.
