Elizabeth in MN
Next week my family and I are going on a long vacation. We'll be on the road for three weeks, most of it driving to or from the West Coast. My DD is eleven and has been doing this kind of trip since the age of three. To say she is a pro at it is an understatement. We have one audio book for the family, two on her iPod, and a few math games to help her multiplication tables. She's great at packing herself. My question is, what should I pack in terms of home schooling? Due to some of my health issues we have gone to a homeschooling lite of reading from a book for an hour (she'll get car sick if we do this), creative writing, math, Bible reading and multiplication flash cards. I can see me packing - SM Math Wordsmith Red Herrings and maybe SOTW 2 (but then what do I do with the Kingfisher readings?) Anyone BTDT, or have an opinion on the matter? Starr
You could photocopy the Kingfisher readings or just skip them for the 3 weeks. I often take school work and it doesn't get done so anything that gets done is a plus.
QuirkyKapers
Hmm- You could get her a drawing/writing journal and than she could draw and write about something she saw that was interesting....Better yet a camera than she could look things up later and that would make it more educational. Other than that, I wouldn't pack educational materials. It just wouldn't happen.
