Little Girl/Big Girl Christmas Dresses

Recommended Posts

I am looking for coordinating Christmas dresses for my daughters.

This is my oldest daughter (7) first Christmas with baby sisters. (Our twins who will be 5 months old at Christmas time.)

Any suggestions on where to look?

I have looked at my usual places and am not having much luck.

Thx,

Rebecca

PinkPrincess.com?

MyGirlDress.com also has some nice styles.

BestDressedChild.com? - these folks have dresses in baby/girl sizes in the same material but with slightly different styles. Very nice!

We used to dress the two girls like this every Christmas. I have some lovely pictures of older DD holding little DD in her lap in matching dresses. And the cool part is that now little DD is wearing the bigger size as hand-me-down. Now my girls are too big for dress-alike, but I bought DD10's Christmas dress at Sears this year.

A little spendy, but Hanna Andersson usually has either matching or coordinating dresses in a wide variety of sizes. Also try Gymboree or The Children's Place. I love Gymboree for family pictures because I can coordinate all three of my kids there. I don't know what I'll do when my oldest outgrows their sizes :D

One year my dd and I had coordinating dresses from Hanna Andersson. I still fit in mine and it's one of my favorite dresses.

I do a lot of sewing for my own girls, especially when I want them to match because they are 5.5 years apart in age. It's hard to find matching or coordinating dresses for them when they are in different departments.

So sewing your own dresses is always an option.

Another option is to have someone else sew the dresses for you. For example, I started a home business a few years ago by selling custom-made girls' dresses. I mostly do causal dresses, but I have done formal Christmas dresses for customers on request. My website is listed in my signature, and you can see a couple of my Christmas dresses by visiting the doll page http://www.dennisdesigns.net/dolldresses.htm. Typically, when I have done these, the customer lets me know what fabric and style she wants and I send her pictures of the fabric options with price quotes. I would be happy to do it, but I'm sure you can probably find a number of custom dress makers on eBay and etsy who would be willing to sew for you.
