Quiver0f10
My 12 yo has some LD and is using MUS but I am finding there isn't enough review for him. My other kids are using CLE and I really like it. I would love to switch my 12 yo but because of the way MUS teaches concepts I would probably need to start with the grade 2 CLE books. I am thinking if we did a lesson per day but skipped the quizes and some of the 1 page lessons and then worked through the summer we could be finish 1.5 levels per year? I'd love to try to get 2 done but I don't know. Or maybe do one lesson in the morning then one after lunch? Am I crazy to consider this? Mommyfaithe
If he needs just review, you can do it like we did Saxon for a while....do 2 lessons a day and just 1 We Remember section. You can also do a lot orally...or if writing is an issue, you can write 1/2 of it for him. I have done this to catch my kids up with Saxon and for one child who needed to move faster in CLE. When you get to a lesson he needs more work in....find those problems in the review sections and just do those and move on into the next lesson. It can be done...but try to be. Sensitive to overload. CLE is more advanced than many other programs...yet it has ample review to be able to skip some...especially when the skill has been mastered. I like the idea of 2 lessons but only 1 We Remember section. I think that could work. I can slow it down if he needs more review.
