aggieamy
My book club is reading Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles this month and I'm hosting. Usually we do either dinner or heavy appetizers that go with the theme of the book when we get together. What would be good food to serve? I'm not that familiar with British food and it needs to be vegetarian as most of our members don't eat meat. Thanks for any ideas.
Skadi
PBS' Manor House website gives some suggestions. You don't have to follow their recipes to the letter to get the spirit of the dishes. They suggest Potato soup, artichoke and asparagus salad, kale, gingerbread cookies, and various sweet cream desserts.
Chris in VA
How about a good veggie soup with some sort of British bread--popovers, or maybe some of that bread with currents in it-- Or do a tea of sorts? Some sort of sandwiches and some cookies, with teas? A trifle for dessert would be yumm-o!!
aggieamy
Fantastic. Those are great ideas. Tea! Why didn't I think of having tea? What could be more British than that. :tongue_smilie: Off to start my recipe search. Please add any more ideas also!
