Miss Marple
Ds#1 brought me a selection of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory truffles :001_smile: I'm doing a low carb (ala Atkins) diet before the holidays :glare: But I discovered that 1/4 of a truffle = 5 carbs. It was worth it. Delicious! That box will last me a long time at this rate ;)
MIch elle
Some carbs are worth it! I'm on Atkins too. It's become my way of life to watch my carb intake (at least I try most of the time ;)).
Photo Ninja
But how do you manage to eat only 1/4 of a truffle? It would be better for me to skip it entirely than try to eat only 1/4 of one. That taste would just make me want more. But if you can do it, enjoy the truffles!
Miss Marple
LOL! I'll have to check that out. I only eat dark chocolate so that's good to know.
Miss Marple
Believe me, it isn't easy! The most motivation I have is that my son (ds15) will never let me live it down if I eat the whole thing. He's doing P90X and one of the requirements is to do a week of low carb. So, knowing that 15 year old boys have difficulty with self-control, I told him I would do it with him (with the added bonus that I have some wiggle room weight-wise during the holidays). I've gotta be a good example (but it's really killing me knowing those truffles are calling my name!). He checks the box every morning to see if I've fallen off the wagon! angela in ohio
Are there some black cherry ones in there? Those are so ridiculously yummy! I stop in and buy a couple every time we are near the store (ironically, on my monthly trip to WF and TJ - hopefully it balances out.) One quarter of one of those would be plenty to keep me happy all day.
