Hello!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello!! I haven't been here for awhile as I have been super busy. I decided to stop by and saw I had a message. Thought I better give an update.

I am now considered....a one year cancer survivor! Woot woot! Ironically, I ran into the doctor that diagnosed me on the exact day and about the same time on my one year anniversary. I hadn't seen her for over a year as I have been seen by oncologists since then. I thought that was so strange to have her tap me on the shoulder while I was out in the community.

I continue to be on leave from my part time work. I am still really tired but very happy. I am in the LiveStrong program and going to physical therapy. So I am busy.

My eldest child is in high school. She loves it but I am not fond of it. I am imagining her slowly getting corrupted there! It is hard on our family having her go there but at least I know some of the time she is learning. There is a lot of wasted time! I am so shocked!

I am coming up on some retesting. I am having a brain MRI on this Wednesday at 5:00 eastern. I am having some anxiety about this. I am also trying to get flights to see my radiation onc in Houston at the end of Nov. I will have a PET scan then. I am getting full of anxiety about this, too. The farther out I get I am afraid that I am getting closer to recurrence.

Please pray for good test results and God's peace.

Thank you hive friends!! You really helped to bring me through this horrible nightmare!!! God Bless you all!

Congratulations, and thanks for the update.

I understand about the testing anxiety, but you just have to get through it and find your own strategies to deal with it. They will keep a close eye on you from now on, so it's going to happen every six months to a year for a while. It's a different kind of stress because you can't actively DO anything; you just have to show up for the test and wait for the results.

I hope all your results are clear!

Take care,

Joann

Christine I will be keeping you in my prayers, especially for getting the all clear on your tests. :)

I'm glad to hear your daughter is enjoying high school, but definitely understand your concerns and frustration. :grouphug:

Praying for the anxiety to be quieted and for you to be filled with His peace. :grouphug:
