Can we talk Bioflavonoids?

Recommended Posts

I know I do not get enough of this in my diet because I never, ever eat any fruit.

I understand that BF have Vitamin C in it as it goes hand in hand.

I have also read that it should be taken with a meal.

So here are my questions

1. I already take 1000mg of Vitamin C with my iron pills(which I have to take on an empty stomach), and drink a glass of OJ.

2. With that said, BF should be taken on a full stomach. correct?

3. If I should purchase a BF supplement with Vitamin C, can I drop the Vitamin C pill I am already taking, and take the BF w/C with my iron, or will the BF supplement upset my stomach if I have not eaten? I would think that my iron pills would absorb well if taken together.

4. And which one do you recommend? There are so many!

5. Can this be taken with: B6, Vitex, and Natural progesterone?

Okay, I think I have surpassed my question quota of the evening! :)

There are so many. Some people take them because they think it will ward off cancer. (I think the VitC-combination takes a greater aim at cancer prevention) Others for allergies/inflammation. I'm sure there are other reasons.

Be careful because they do have drug interactions. For example, quercetin and bromelain both reduce the bioavailability of statins (used to control cholesterol).
