Once Again
I slept through it, unfortunately, but my DH was up and says he most definitely felt it. We live in the Tulsa area.
Murphy101
It woke almost all of us up! I didn't even have to thump dh awake, which is saying something.
chepyl
We were awake watching tv, we weren't sure until this morning. We are in Moore.
wendybird
We slept through it.
Miss Marple
Yes! My 2 oldest came home from OU so there was a late night X-Box party downstairs which meant that we (upstairs) weren't getting much sleep (they were up until 2:30). Dh and I, both, felt it. The windows rattled, the bed shook, and my dh poked me and asked, "did you feel that? I think we had an earthquake!" Yes, I did, indeed, feel it! That's the 2nd one in the past year. The other one I felt, but no one else at home felt it, was centered around Norman. This one was much closer.
ThatCyndiGirl
It woke me up. I thought someone was trying to break into the house!
Sheila in OK
That was my first thought too! We are in the Tulsa area. It woke up dh and me but dd slept right through it. It woke me up. I thought someone was trying to break into the house!
shalom22
My sil posted about it this morning on fb. They are about 20 miles from the epicenter, which was Prague, OK.
Outdoorsy Type
I slept through it, but my 7yo said it woke him up. He sleeps on a top bunk, so it would make sense.
elise1mds
I totally slept through them, but DH and DS both woke up.
Heather in OK
Slept right through it!! My 9yo said she woke up. She has a wall decoration that rattles if you shut a door too hard. So that shaking on the wall woke her up. I'm glad my client who is due next week didn't need me. Apparently I was sleeping VERY well that even an earthquake didn't wake me up.
kht2006
I'm in North Texas. I felt it. I couldn't figure out what it was until I woke up this morning.
Faith
I didn't wake up or hear anything. I must of been sleeping pretty good for once.
wendybird
And another one. That was eerie and now half my kids are afraid.:tongue_smilie:
elise1mds
Yeah, it was pretty scary. And this "aftershock" was a 5.2, so even bigger than the one last night! I'm calling on Monday to get earthquake insurance put on the house!
Once Again
Okay my house just shook for a good full minute. The news is saying 5.2 this time.
Kirch
And another one. That was eerie and now half my kids are afraid.:tongue_smilie: As in, just a few minutes ago? We felt that one down (just barely) here in TX. And I saw a fb post about it from a friend in AR. My first ever earthquake! :001_huh:
blondeviolin
This last one was a long one! I am wondering what's up! And when will it stop? We get enough action in the spring with tornadoes...autumn is a break time!
Joker
My FB feeds, with all my TX family and friends, say they just had one as well.
elise1mds
Yup, that's from the one up here. It was insane. I'm still shaking, though the house has stopped. I thought it was going to start up again a few minutes ago, but it didn't last.
Dina in Oklahoma
It really shook in southwest OKC! It reminded me of when I was a kid in California. DD keeps asking Dh and I if the ceiling is alright.:001_smile:
Bluezoo5
I felt this latest one up near the St. Louis area. It felt like the couch was moving to and fro for a few seconds.
Quiver0f10
We just felt one in NW AR. Was weird!
Miss Marple
This one was much more violent than the one yesterday. It also lasted much longer - well over a minute.
Outdoorsy Type
Wow! That last one really got my blood pumping. It was so LOUD and so long. I was wondering if it was just going to keep getting worse. I was sitting on my bed watching TV and the bed started moving back and forth!
MrsMommy
We felt it in the St. Louis area, too. It took me a minute to figure out why the bed was shaking, and by then, it was over...
d.g.
We felt it here, just west of Wichita, KS. Shook the bed, rattled things on the walls. And here I thought summer storms & tornadoes were all I really had to worry about... :glare:
Once Again
Now they've revised it to 5.6, though they said it might be downgraded later.
Dina in Oklahoma
According to USGS.gov a new record for Oklahoma! 5.6:tongue_smilie:
Abigail4476
Okay, felt last night's quake...thought it was kind of cool since I'd never felt one before. THIS one wasn't cool. Still a little shaken up :tongue_smilie: and WIDE AWAKE. I suddenly realized I have no idea what we're supposed to do in the event of a quake. Tornadoes I have figured out; an earthquake is a whole new disaster.
Miss Marple
We were just about ready to head to the pasture! It's so weird because we've never really experienced anything like this. I wonder how folks near Prague are doing...both quakes were centered near there (4 and 6 miles).
Murphy101
Door frames. Head for door frames. MY first thought was: I don't have enough freaking door frames for the 12 of us!:tongue_smilie:
Swirl
We felt it too in SW Missouri. I was going down the hall and heard DD's bedroom door shaking. I could see her asleep on the couch and thought someone was in her room. :scared: I could hear sort of a rumbling too.
chepyl
We definitely felt the one tonight! The whole house was shaking. Nothing broken....I will have to take a look at the studio tomorrow!
mommyrooch
Yep! It shook my house pretty badly. I live in an underground home so needless so say, I'm pretty freaked out right now. I can't imagine a worse place to be during an earthquake. If my ceilings were to collapse we would be completely crushed because they are made our of 10" thick, 10,000 PSI concrete with 2 feet of earth above that. The latest report from the USGS is now stating that the one that just happened tonight was a 5.6. That's 2 that were 4.7 or higher in less that 24 hours!
