Starr
If I remember correctly, I heard on NPR he still has a book or two to write.
Robyn
There are supposed to be 7 books by the time it is done. But he took a long time to write Dance with Dragons, so I am not holding my breath for the next one to come out anytime soon. Dance got too long, so some of it was set aside for the next book, so at least he has a jump on it.
Skadi
I believe there are going to be seven books in the series, so there are two more books that will be published after A Dance with Dragons. You can keep up with the author's progress by following his blog (he says that he's only 100 pages into the sixth book right now), and you can see some of the production diary of HBO's next season here. Mrs Mungo
Not only are there 2 books to go, but he took 5 or 6 years to write the fifth book. It could be a while before we have resolution. ;)
KristinaBreece
And then... he could split up the next book like he did the last 2. Feast for Crows and Dance with Dragons were originally meant to be one book.... This could be a looooooong progression.
Kim in Appalachia
to get it done. Right now I'm on book 3, A Storm of Swords. It will take me a bit to get through the next 2 books, especially with the holidays. But it might be good to get my head out of this series for while. It's a bit all consuming. :001_smile:
