Kathleen in VA
What's the proper way to cite a poem that is part of a collection in book form? For example, if you were quoting part of the poem "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer from a collection of Kilmer poems bound in one volume, how would you cite it? Ginevra
This is what it says in Hacker's Rules for Writers under citing a work in an anthology, which sounds like your description: Begin with the name of the author of the selection, not with the name of the editor of the anthology. Then give the title of the selection; the title of the anthology; the name of the editor (proceeded by "Ed." for "Edited by"); publication information; the pages on which the selection appears and the medium.Ex.: Desai, Anita. "Scholar and Gypsy." The Oxford Book of Travel Stories. Ed. Patricia Craig. Oxford: Oxford UP, 1996. 251-73. Print. Perhaps that will help. :001_smile:
