mlktwins
Hi all! I am just so socially inadequate it's not even funny :blushing:. We are heading on vacation :auto: (my son asked me to push the car button) in a month and we will be staying for one night with a couple we love dearly. They retired and moved to FL 2 years ago and this will be our first time visiting. This couple (she used to be DH's secretary and he used to be my boss) set DH and I up on our blind date and here we are 11 years later with twin boys. I want/feel I should take some type of housewarming or thanks for having us gift, but I have no clue what to bring them. Bottle of wine? Pretty candles? Something else? Anyone have any ideas? I am so not creative with gifts despite how much I like giving them. I agonize over things like this. What would be something you would like? Thanks for any assistance! scrapbookbuzz
Not knowing their pre-disposition to alcohol, might I suggest a bottle of sparkiling cider in a basket with two champagne flutes? We did something similar to this as a housewarming gift many years ago and it was well received! HTH!

1GirlTwinBoys
Very nice idea already suggested. My sister just brought me a very nice fall large ceramic plate with yummy treats. I got to keep the cute plate. :)
KatieJ
If they are retired, I would go with disposable gifts..as in just the wine, maybe some cheese or fruit with it, homebaked goodies..that kind of thing. They may not want to find a place to put a new plate or new glasses no matter how cute they are. Candles can be tricky with favorite scents and all that.
