astrid
Just got power back after being without electricity (and heat, cooking, and water) for five days due to a freak snow storm that dumped 2.5 feet of snow on Connecticut. Our trees still had leaves, so the devastation was intense. So who had babies? How are all the new dogs/training issues? How was Halloween? (it was cancelled here) What are you cooking in your crock pots? Feels good to have a load of laundry in and only ONE layer of clothing! astrid

Lara in Colo
All I can say is WOW, how was camping?
Impish
No baby here yet, but an induction date set for Monday if he doesn't show up before then. We've all been dealing with a rotten case of the Creeping Crud. I basically can't move without provoking a major case of coughing and hacking. simka2
Puppies are doing well. Dealing with a pretty major worm infestation. :tongue_smilie: Very frustrated with the breeder and wish I could have taken the whole litter, but I am glad I took 2 females and will be getting them spayed. They now sleep quietly in our mud room with a heating pad, and are learning to remain outside even when the door is open. Theu already accompany my kids as they travel to their various forts on the property and are adapting well to the cows and horses. I am envious of your snow, we are still in a drought. ;)
astrid
Imp: UGH! Feel better soon-- you've got a baby to greet! Simka2, sorry about the worms-- yuck. Glad the girls are fitting in well, though! Lara--- camping in my own home was not nearly as fun nor exciting as camping during the summer in the gorgeous outdoors. Whew. Glad it's over, but I"m frustrated with our power company because SO many are still it the dark. We host a knitting group on Thursday afternoons and today it was "Stitch and Shower" for friends who are still in the dark. Jean- thanks for the welcome back! astrid
Cinder
For a Halloween update the best thread was about weird stuff kids got in their treat bags--like mayo packets. I just found out from my neighbor our county schools had the day off the day after Halloween. Oh, it was still a Teacher Work Day, but the kids were out of school. What's up with that? And welcome back! Glad to hear you've weathered that storm.

unsinkable
Because the teachers don't want to deal with children who were up late eating candy all night! :iagree: I think Halloween should be "celebrated" and trick or treating should be on the last Saturday in October. Then everyone has Sunday to recover!

Power out for a WEEK! We have some funny memories of it, though! DD and I slept together whilst the males camped out in the living room. We still have code words that can make us laugh about our nighttime conversations. I am glad you're able to unbundle! :D
