DawnM
I cannot log on to the communities forum to ask questions and it takes me in a vicious circle of saying I have multiple Apple IDs to the log in info, then asks me to change my password. Then I start over and it does the same thing again. I see that I have multiple Apple IDs and want to delete the excess so I can actually log on to the stupid site. Can anyone tell me how to delete my extras? Thanks, Dawn
RegGuheert
I think you have to contact Apple to do that. If you do a Google search you will see a few articles/discussions of strategies to deal with an AppleID which you want to discard. There is a limit to what you can do without Apple. RegGuheert
WHICH Apple number do I call? Applecare? Customer service?I'm sorry, but I have no idea. I'm not even sure calling them will help. Here is the official Apple stance on the subject: Can I delete my Apple ID account? Apple ID accounts cannot be deleted, it is recommended you remove all personal information from your Apple ID profile instead.
Hannah C.
I would try calling them. I once had an issue with my iTunes account stemming from the fact that it began as an AIM username waaay back when, and they were able to help me over the phone. It honestly sounds like the system might be confused, so I would try calling them. I'd probably try their customer service line unless I saw a number which was more specific on their website. I hope everything gets worked out!!
In The Great White North
I sadly have two Apple IDs also. Settings, on the iPhone and on iTunes, thinks I have one, but when I try to buy or update apps on the iPhone, it thinks I have the other. I did try calling Apple but their "fix" didn't fix it and I haven't gotten around to calling them back. They seemed to be most interested in whether or not I qualified for help, instead of actually helping.:glare:
