LNC
My daughter's study method: read text with audio writes vocab definitions in comp book experiments multimedia cd study guide in comp book test She does not outline or take notes on the text while reading. Should I encourage her to start this for study skills practice for high school? Edited November 3, 2011 by LNC
Marty
One thing I've done is let my kids use their notes for an open-book quiz. That helped encourage note-taking! Yes, I'd start doing it some now.
thowell
I would think so. I have dd11 outline her science and history reads. At first she fought me on it but once she realized how much easier it made the testing she was on board. This is a crucial skill for study at a college level so I think you have a great idea to start her on it now.
LNC
Yes, she outlines for WWS and history. It is just science she doesn't seem to "need" to yet. Maybe I'll require it next semester, but it seems overkill when she has an A+ average...
