tntgoodwin
What do you do with old magazines? I usually keep them, they make great reference materials. But they tend to take over the place. If I pay $5-10 for a magazine, I feel just as guilty throwing it away as I would throwing away a book when I am done reading it.
Belacqua
There's a shelf at our library for donated magazines; people just take what they want (and often give them right back when they're finished). It's our own flourishing little economy. :) It's always exciting to check the shelf: will I find this month's issue of Cooking Light? Or will it be a stack of National Geographics from 1982? Mergath
Our library has a "free" table where you can leave books, magazines, etc. that you don't want. I've seen stacks of magazines more than twenty years old, but they always get taken by someone. I leave all my old books and magazines there. Lol, I guess it's a popular idea. :tongue_smilie: A couple months ago, at my library I found a stack of pristine Saxon homeschool materials. LittleIzumi
I have a stack for cutting & pasting activities with the girls. :)
OnTheBrink
I either leave them in the break room at work, or I list them on Freecycle.
tntgoodwin
I guess I just rarely feel "finished" with them.
Mommee & Baba
I keep all mine in my magazine holder for several months. I will rotate them through-out our reading spots (bathroom...) and then eventually I will throw them out. We do save a small stack for school projects! :)
J-rap
We save some for a long time -- esp. the ones with craft ideas. Those are ones we pull out over and over again. The rest we recycle.
Down_the_Rabbit_Hole
Most of my magazines are of a craft nature...Quilting, sewing, knitting, cross stitch. Certain ones I keep, but most I will save for a short time, take out the project pages I want and pass the remainder to others I know who enjoy the craft. Guest
My husband (who has much more of a pack rat tendency than myself) keeps his old magazines in boxes in our closet. They are all automobile magazines and he will reference them from time to time. I hate coming across those boxes, though. They are impossible for me to move out of the way!
