vettechmomof2
I really feel for everyone who is suffering or who will suffer with their families at the holidays BUT I wanted to do a thankful posting for my inlaws and my family for always making the holidays great! If anyone else would like to make mention of their families/friends at holiday times feel free. For Thanksgiving we al ways go to my inlaws the day of and see my parents the weekend after. Everyone who attends brings different parts of the meal. Relaxes together playing games, eating, playing with the children and eating:tongue_smilie:. There are normally between 12- 25 people and some years we have had even more. My inlaws awlays invite my family but it is 3 hours for them and my mother works full time and gets tired with the driving so they normally pass. For Christmas we see my parents/grandfather/brother on Christmas Eve and then spend Christmas day home alone. We celebrate for New year's together as well. Other then the driving we always look forward to the holidays.
mcconnellboys
Ahhh, how nice for you! I wish that we had family who liked to be with us like that, but we have gotten used to being on our own.... My older son will be home and we are taking the week off so the younger one can be with him. We're also going to take off earlier in December so that he can be with his brother before Christmas (because he has to leave for winter swim training the day after Christmas). I don't know yet if I am cooking or if we're going out. I have to ask them what they want to do....
kwickimom
My family is AMAZING and we all have a blast everytime we get together. I am thankful for all of them and the holidays are some of the best days of my life. We usually have 50+ people at all holiday events. It is a great time for our family and I wouldn't trade it for the world!!!
