zenjenn
Why is it so expensive and does anyone every have success getting it at a more reasonable price? We've never done Latin, I've never studied Latin, but my oldest DD has expressed an interest and this program looked fun but.. yikes. $70 for a teacher manual? SkateLeft
Years ago, I was part of a group that got permission from the author and publisher to purchase and use the manual as a co-op group. We each pitched in, then one of the moms scanned it in as a PDF, and sent it to everyone in the group. I doubt that's possible anymore, since the program has grown a lot, and the publisher probably isn't as accommodating as they used to be. FairProspects
If you put it in your Amazon cart, it does go on sale occasionally. I think I ended up paying around $40 for it, so not fantastic, but cheaper than regular price. They show up sometimes on the For Sale boards, but they sell lightening quick since it is such an expensive manual and you really can't do the program w/o it. Laura Corin
Because the programme is designed for schools. The publisher assumes that one manual will be used by a whole school. Laura
Momling
I bought it for around $50 and sold it for $45.
Steven
So, what's in the manual that makes it useful? We are using the book as a stand-alone. (I did, however, buy the CD, which is not very useful.)
Momling
I thought the worksheets were good... and so was the historical background in the teacher's manual. It was definitely not worth $50... but maybe worth $15? So if you buy and sell carefully you'll do okay.
