KarenNC
Our group is considering this, so we're trying to get an idea of how other folks do it, cost, venue, activities, ticket price, etc. One person is telling us that doing one in the gym is considered no longer acceptable, it has to be in a hotel, etc. Is this the new standard? It's been 30 years since I thought about one ;).
SweetMissMagnolia
most of the kiddos in our group are too young for that-we have a couple of older teens, but not sure they would want a prom LOL......
Alison in KY
Our group has for the past few years. I haven't been, since we're too young for that, but I've heard a few things. I believe they have used a church gym. I'm sure it cuts down on the cost and our group tries to always do that. I know the moms and kids have a decorating get together a day before the big event. Because we are a Christian group, they've made the prom be very conservative, so that all will feel welcome. They have hired dance instructors to come in and teach ballroom dances, etc to the kids...something they can do and not be smashed up against each other.
