Heather in Neverland
Today we dissected the python that died on our campus yesterday. It was REALLY cool!!! The kids loved it and the most amazing part was the WHOLE goose (not a chicken as I originally thought) was completely intact. The teachers and students were all hyped up. What a great day for science!

Cheryl in NM
Why did it die? Did it "choke" on the goose?
Melissa in Australia
It died when it was bashed on the head
Heather in Neverland
It died when it was bashed on the head correct. But for the record, it was killed by a local employee and "animal rights" is not a big concern here unfortunately. We were all very upset as we usually set them free in the jungle. GoVanGogh
Oh. My. What an awesome science lesson. I love the boy's smile in the middle photo - he is to the far right, with glasses. Looks like he will remember that snake dissection as long as he lives.

celticmom
Why did it die? Did it "choke" on the goose? I remember seeing something about one in the everglades that died from splitting open after eating an alligator.
