Daisy
Does anyone know if we were supposed to buy another set of tiles this year for AAS 3? I bought the starter pack of tiles, but this year we don't have enough tiles to build words that have three of the same tile such as billfold and giggle. Did you buy more tiles or am I missing something?
abrightmom
Daisy, Did you buy a student packet for Level 3 or just the TM? When we used AAS, the materials needed for each level came with our student packet. We had the appropriate tiles and cards. If you purchased used then you are probably missing something. Daisy
I did buy the student pack for AAS 3 but there were no extra basic tiles. There were the new tiles but no extra g or l.
FairProspects
We bought an extra set in case we lost letters and to spell longer words. This is what we did as well. I really think it should be a rec on the AAS page because we have run into the same issue a few times now.
Lots of boys
I have made my own extras and put them on a magnetic backing - my kids don't seem to mind.
Homemama2
Since we use our's on our white board, we just wrote the extra letters. This comes up rarely.
nukeswife
This is a known issue, not sure if there were any changes to the words in newer printing, but I know my set of tiles came with some blank squares. I planned to just write any extra letters we need on those. ETA: I plan to use dry erase marker on those blank tiles so they can be changed as needed. boscopup
I remember those words... I don't think we ran into the problem after that step though? We just write the letters in.
Daisy
Thanks ladies. I hunted up our blank tiles. I like the idea of using a dry erase marker on them. The color of the tiles really helps my son so at least this way we can keep using what he is familiar with.
