Surprise Symphony
My ds11 is very good at math & math concepts, but is very, very slow & exacting. On the Iowa achievement test he will attempt 10 out of 28 problems, and be 100% correct on the attempts. Our math program is mastery based and he really understands the concepts. With what do I supplement, to increase is quantity without sacrificing quality (thinking ahead to hs and the SAT). TIA, Lisa
Sarah CB
I'm really impressed with Singapore's Speed Maths Strategies. It develops speed and accuracy through thinking strategies. I think it would be a great complement to a program that is conceptually based. I wrote a short review of it and included a photo and a link on my blog. Baseballmom
How about Quarter Mile Math. You race against yourself in order to gain mastery and speed. Dorothy
FlockOfSillies
We're in the exact same boat as the OP, only with dd8. I think this will help us. Thanks!
JeannineW
We are in a similar boat and just started Calculadders to try to help with the problem. We've only used them for two weeks so I don't know yet if it will work. The kids are excited to use them. DD 8 said she wants to do one today (Saturday).
