DianeW88
Checked a book out of the library today. When I got home and began reading, I found that some self-appointed censor had gone through it and blacked out every single word they found offensive in the first three chapters. :glare: This is a popular novel that is now ruined for all the patrons. Honestly, people need to grow up!

Veritaserum
Ugh. Be sure to let the librarians know it was not you who defaced the book.
Slartibartfast
I would let the librarians know. People are idiots.
dangermom
Give it to the librarians and suggest they use it as an object lesson display for next week---it's Banned Books Week. :D
NanceXToo
Ugh! But c'mon, how could you not tell us what book it is?!
SweetPea
Recently one book I was going to check out had pages ripped out and I promptly took it to the librarian. I also have come across blacked out words. I see you live in Utah - me too - and am wondering if this is a "Utah" thing.
Old Dominion Heather
Call them now and tell them and then return it asap. They keep library records... they will at least know who did do it.
PinkInTheBlue
That's just crazy! If someone doesn't like the words, don't read the book. I just can't imagine someone doing this. I can imagine them doing thinking of all the subsequent readers they were "rescuing" from such words. Wow Definitely notify the library ASAP. Dana
Call them now and tell them and then return it asap. They keep library records... they will at least know who did do it. Many libraries don't keep records once a book has been returned. I know ours doesn't.
LittleIzumi
Many libraries don't keep records once a book has been returned. I know ours doesn't. Ours does. :glare: I've been called & accused of book damage on something I checked out months prior.
Dana
Ours does. :glare: I've been called & accused of book damage on something I checked out months prior. Yuck!
justamouse
Ours is all electronic with barcodes, They will KNOW who done what. Call them and I hope they ban that person from using the library. Self righteous prig. :glare:
MrsBasil
That's pretty low. Why deface and vandalize a public book? They had no right to do that.
Daisy
I checked out a book from the library on Renaissance Art and some horny juvenile delinquent had labeled all the bits in the book. Annoying. I had to set it aside and return it because what was once a completely normal art book is now an anatomy lesson in obscenity.
