AlmiraGulch
On Friday I had a total abdominal hysterectomy. My fiance was with me the whole time, except for three hours when he had to go to work that day. While he was gone my sister came in. She told me he was so concerned while I was in surgery, pacing back and forth and trying to figure out the best ways to take care of me when I woke up. :o The man is a saint. He stayed with me in my room and waited on me hand and foot. He brought ice chips when I was thirsty (already had them ready without my asking), covered me when I was cold, took the blankets off when I was hot, hunted down the nurse when I was in pain. He even held the bowl when I vomited (gross, I know) and didn't even flinch. He slept in the hospital with me Friday and Saturday night on the barely-cushioned bench even though he had to work both Saturday and today. Today I came home (yay!) to a freshly made bed with clean linens, my laptop, heating pad, magazine, book, phone and charger all staged within arm's reach. The man is a gem. Just wanted to share how incredibly grateful and lucky I am!

southcarolinamom
I'm having empathy pain for you! I had a TAH 10 years ago. Not fun. The first week is the hardest. Two weeks from now, you will feel soooo much better. Your fiance sounds like a keeper! I'm so thankful you have him to take care of you! Enjoy all the pampering you can get. :D
