ravinlunachick
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/30/ashley-mcdowell-wooden-ipad_n_942478.html It's local to me, too, so that makes it even funnier. Ashley McDowell, a 22-year-old South Carolina woman, found herself holding a creatively decorated piece of wood (seen above) after scammers took her for $180, claiming they were selling her a bargain-rate iPad The suspects behind the rip-off were driving a Chevy Impala with no rims, reads the officer's report. One of the suspects was described as having a gold tooth.
ChristusG
Seriously???!!! LOL! Who in the world buys something like that? My first thought would have been that it was stolen anyways! And she didn't even want to check to make sure it works??

Forget-Me-Not
 Sorry, if someone approached me in the McD's parking lot, gold tooth or not, and offered me a discount iPad, my first thought would NOT be, "Hey, what a great deal!" melissad2
There was another story on the news this morning, apparently the same scammer sold a woman a laptop for $300 in a gas station parking lot. Only when she got home and opened the fedex box it was paper wrapped with electrical tape. I can't believe people can be so stupid:lol:.
