HappyGrace
It only has to be about 3-4 feet long, and I don't want to spend much! I know I could get newspaper ends but it's too far away. Thanks!:)
Dmmetler
Teaching supply stores often sell bulletin board backing paper by the foot, and it's not terribly expensive. I wish you were closer to me-DH brought home several rolls of giant printer paper that were used by a great big plotter they had in the office, and it's great for this kind of thing. I think I've outfitted half my homeschooling friends, plus a church Sunday school so far :).
HappyGrace
Thanks-no teaching supply stores near here. Would Staples or anything have it? I wish I could have gotten some from your dh!:)
Prose
I got some craft paper at Michaels or Fred Meyers. It's pretty wide though, like wrapping paper wide on a roll. Or we have bought rolls of paper from our local newspaper for 2 or 3$. We use it for coloring or for making fires in out wood stove.

On the school supply aisle with all the markers, crayons etc. Half the price of the same product at the teachers' store here.

TKDmom
I got a roll of paper at Staples a couple of weeks ago. It's just the right width for a timeline.
Samiam
The company: Melissa and Doug, you know they have those artsy toys.....they sell rolled paper for their art easel. It's about $4-5 for a roll. Sold at toy stores, Amazon, etc.

hmvaughan4
We've used the brown rolls sold at Lowe's for art projects. It's really to lay down on flooring while moving in, or something like that. It's by the paint supplies, I believe.
blondeviolin
You could also use freezer paper. We actually use freezer paper for any messy craft as the glossy side prevents anything from seeping through to my table.
zippymom
I second using the brown paper from Lowes or Home Depot. It is durable and cheap. Great for lots of things...painting, coloring, signs, wrapping boxes etc. They call it brown masking paper. It runs around 3 to 10 dollars depending on the dimensions. HappyGrace
ugh-my W'mart didn't have it! I will try Staples next. No Ikea here. If Staples doesn't have it I may try the back of wrapping paper (maybe white wedding paper so it doesn't show thru). I don't want to use the brown paper because it doesn't look quite as appealing. Thanks!
