fruitofthewomb
I need a workbook for my 3 y/o to do while big sis is doing school. She wants to be at the table with us and most of our work she can do too (math manipulatives, dry erase, etc.) but we do use a few workbooks and she wants her own. I tried giving her some random ones from wal mart but she wants official school workbooks. Any suggestions?
xiri
We love the Rod and Staff preschool books. They have 2 sets. One set is a group of 4 workbooks for ages 3-4. There is also a set for ages 4-5 that has 9 books. None of these books are particularly colorful, but they are very sweet and get the job done. I have used both sets and my little ones seem to enjoy them. http://www.rodandstaffbooks.com/list/Study_Time_Preschool/ http://www.rodandstaffbooks.com/list/Rod_and_Staff_Preschool
ThreeBlessings
I like the Kumon workbooks for the littles.
island-mama
I love the Rod & Staff preschool as well. Both my kids really enjoyed working their way through them.
MeaganS
I bought a bunch of the scholastic ones in PDF format when they were on sale for a dollar each. I can print them out and use them over and over again for us when we do "school."

They are simple and fun without being too much visually. Love them!
parias1126
I just received the Rod & Staff workbooks. We started today and my DS loved them!
Holly
My DD enjoys maze books. If you use a sheet protector and dry erase makers, she can reuse each page.
TracyR
If you use Christian materials, Rod and Staff has the About Three Series .Like others said they aren't colorful but kids seem to like them and to them its like doing 'school stuff'. If you don't use Christian materials I would go with Kumon.
Mrs. Lilac
We loved the Brainquest ones you can get at most bookstores.
cholderby
I love the R&S ones! DS6 did them and DD4 is using them now. That said, I have given her some of those dollar workbooks from Target with mazes and dot-to-dots in them for just that purpose.
fruitofthewomb
Thanks so much! I will look in to the R&S workbooks. She thinks she is just as big as her sister :001_smile: She has no idea she is 3 years younger!
Janie Grace
Oooh, check out this one, too. We LOVED IT this year! PentecostalMom
We like R&S as well, but currently my little dd is using Abeka and likes them because they are colorful. Just another suggestion!

WeeBeaks
We also do the Rod and Staff ones. Kumon ones are nice too, and Costco has them at times. My 3yo currently adores the Gakken ones most of all, but I squawk at the price unless I can get them on clearance tables (occasionally): http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=gakken&x=0&y=
ErinD
Seconding the BrainQuest workbooks. My son also loves one called "Thinking Skills", or possibly "Building thinking skills", published by SchoolZone, which I think I bought on Rainbow Resource for about $10. He is whipping through them both as he asks for them daily.
....
My 3 yro is addicted to Kumon's Easy Mazes. :D In hindsight, I should have bought the Challenging Mazes. With one swoop of a pencil, she's done! :tongue_smilie:
