Spy Car
Great price, but get at least 2 sets as 74 is really only half a set. Bill
MeaganS
Great price, but get at least 2 sets as 74 is really only half a set. Bill I was wondering about that. Is two enough or should I get more? I'm wagering on one kid using these at a time.

Spy Car
I was wondering about that. Is two enough or should I get more? I'm wagering on one kid using these at a time. I have a 155 set. It is a good set (the minimum) for basic work. Enough for everything except for two digit subtraction with regrouping done concretely. My son was largely beyond a need for concrete manipulative for working on this skill (and Singapore shows this skill pictorially) so a 155 set was fine. But at this price? I might have gone for a 310 set so I could have had 20 Tens. As it was a 155 set has been fine. 74 would not be enough IMO. Bill

blondeviolin
I can't check out either. I have c rods, but am really wanting the base ten set.
MyLittleBears
AHHHHHH! Where was this when I needed it. I bought a used 155 set, but very old, for $14ppd. The white rods are tan and the red ones seem like dark pink to me! Are they supposed to be pink? Oh well, at least it came in a box with a tray for sorting, completely feeding into my OCD tendancy!
MeaganS
There were still lots available. I just had to call and place my order over the phone, but it was pretty easy because I had the product numbers in my cart. It took me about 5 mins. Thanks for letting us know about his deal! I did add a few things, so this was my final order: (3) Cuisenaire Rods Introductory Set, Plastic set of 74 (4) PopCubes, Light Green, Set of 20 (1) ManipuLite People Counters, Set of 36 (2) Clock, Student, Geared (3) 5" Geoboards, 6 colors (2) Pattern Blocks, Set of 28 (1) Color Tiles, 1", Set of 200 (1) PentaBlocks, Set of 245 (1) Tape Measure (1) Magic Tree Total ended up being $27.72 shipped. Which is pretty awesome considering I was going to buy a set of cuisenaire rods that had only 155 for $17 on Amazon here in a few months anyways. I get way more of them plus a ton of other stuff I was going to get eventually too!

WAAAAAH. I'm curious what the difference is in there two sets of geometric solids. I see one has 10 and one set has 5 but the one with 5 is more expensive.... How big or should I say how tiny are these? The info given isn't specific-- at least where I can see. Anyone know??
eloquacious
There are also a ton of science things and reading things. I ordered some insect info cards and two ant farms, one for my son and one for his cousin. Also some of you found stuff I didn't even think of, but I didn't want to pay for shipping again. JoAnne I decided right after I confirmed my order that I wanted to get doubles of a few things. I always do it too, so I should have known better. I called my husband to ask if he was alright with me buying a few things. He told me to "buy those Cuisinart rods so you stop bothering all of the toy stores to stock them." Every time I go into an educational-type toy store I ask if they carry cuisenaire rods. 4 out of 5 times, the staff asks if it's something for cooking, and tells me that they don't have Cuisinart products. Hahah! I did buy two of the introductory sets, even though we are WELL stocked (I have both the intro (74) and small group (155) piece wooden sets), because I needed some educational birthday presents for my soon-to-be four year-old nephew. I also got him some reading rods, fraction circles, and an ant farm. He asked for Cars 2, but I'll just have to tell him that it's not out yet. Besides, I know his mom, my sister-in-law, wants to homeschool, so she'll be excited. I'm going to print out that free Cuisenaire Intro book again and laminate the cover so it looks nice, along with some Cuisenaire picture puzzles I found online. Also, I totally just called ETA/Cuisenaire to see if they could open my order and add to it, but it was already being shipped, so the customer service rep allowed me to place a second order and didn't charge me for shipping!!! Rivka
Great, thanks! I'm so glad I rechecked this thread even though we already have Cuisenaire rods. I got: student geared clock 2 sets of dinosaur counters magnetic attribute blocks attribute lacing buttons massive tub of dominoes It cost less than $11 before shipping. I'm thinking that most of these will be for my preschooler, to keep him busy and happy while I'm doing school with my daughter. She needs the clock, though, and they'll both love the dominoes.
