....
Do I just need the Hands-On Learning System for $34.95? What's the difference between the two workbooks? And, do I need those? Thanks for any replies!
....
Nobody uses this? Does this mean I need to get a hobby (besides math)? :tongue_smilie:
momtolgd
I am planning to buy this when I place my RR order this month. I am planning to buy the Verbal Problems book also with the kit because of what I've read about the program on this board. I haven't seen it yet, but from what I understand, the Verbal Problems book is what makes it great. The books from the kit teaches the math in a few weeks, and then there are a lot of problems from each level in the Verbal Problems book to work on and reinforce the concepts. So from what I understand, it works well if you work through Level 1 first, then work through the Level 1 problems in the VP book at 1 or 2 a day (or however you want to use it.) Then you go on to Level 2 and do the same thing. Hopefully someone who uses it already will chime in, since I am not speaking from first hand use yet! mycalling
The system is great, but the word problem book is even better. Yes, it's an investment, but my ds10 is breezing through Pre-Algebra because of it. He can make and manipulate variable equations, even ones with fractions, with little effort now. We did the system without the word problem book last year then sent my dsd13 to ps...she was not capable of working their end-of-grade word problem test questions needing her to write and work out a variable equation. ....
Hi! Thank-you both for the info! I didn't think to look at Rainbow Resource to see if they sell it. I saw the Hands-On Equations website and was trying to figure it out from there. :001_smile: OK, so we are definitely going to get the extra workbooks... Thanks again!
