Blessed with seven
I am needing to get my son caught up in LA skills, his reading level is higher than spelling, grammar etc.. I am really tired of trying to put it ALL together w/ different books. Is there a Remedial "all in one" LA program out there that won't make a 5th or 6th grader start at like a 4th grade level... Does this make sense? Thanks, Kim
ErinD
My rising 5th grader can't spell to save her life. We're going to be using AAS and planning to go through the earlier levels more quickly.
1Togo
Spell to Write and Read covers reading, spelling and basic grammar/writing skills. It has spelling lists through 8th grade and includes placement tests.

Does this make sense? Thanks, Kim There are a lot of programs out there for schools, things like Scholastic's Read 180. You might have some luck googling 'reading intervention.' But a lot of these are $$$. One you might check out is eps's PAF, Preventing Academic Failure (wish they'd found a better name, lol). My favorite reading programs are from Lindamood Bell. Lindamood Bell has a descriptive website, but if you buy books, you would go to Gander Publishing. http://www.ganderpublishing.com/ Although they are not comprehensive -- Seeing Stars is decoding, Visualizing & Verbalizing is comprehension, I think they would be worth a look.
