Little Blue House
I need help planning fun birthday parties for my kids. Anyone have a book rec for party ideas that are not "over the top". I love to be creative...but have really failed in this area. Help!
LinRTX
The book I have used for years is The Pennywhistle Party Planner (at least I think that is what I remember it being called). I did not do everything it suggested, but it was a good jumping off point. Linda

KungFuPanda
Family Fun Magazine has some fun ideas. Check their website. http://familyfun.go.com/parties/
ChristusG
There are tons of blogs about planning kids parties. A lot of them are elaborate but you can always take what you like from the ideas and tone them down. I do that sometimes.
Stacia
What I've always done is have the child pick the theme for the party. Once he/she does that, we would then: - put up a few decorations to match the theme - plan 3 or so party games (some people like to do crafts, but I'm not a craft person, so I'd rather do games) - pinata - food (sometimes labeled w/ silly names to match the theme) I usually just do a google search to get any additonal ideas needed. We've done parties such as: Legos, Nerf Guns, dragons, Harry Potter, unicorns/princesses, etc...
