Cindy in C-ville
Have you read? Did you like? Which to read first?
Melinda in VT
I liked them all. Water for Elephants was my least favorite of the three, but still enjoyable. I would probably read The Help before The Beekeeper's Apprentice, if only so that you can proceed right along to the sequel's of the latter book, if you are so inclined. Hoggirl
I have read Water for Elephants and The Help. Liked them both, but The Help was the better of the two, IMO. Might depend on where you are from. I am from the South, and I could relate to much in that book.

FortWorthCookes
I really, really loved The Help. It was just such a great book. Water for Elephants was GREAT, but full of crap that I really felt just didn't need to be in there to have a wonderful story. WfE was definitely a touching, romantic, perfect-for-summer read. The Help was great, but a quicker, more emotional read. Loved them both! Can't WAIT for The Help to open this weekend!
dhudson
The Help was good and I enjoyed looking at the perspective of the maids but being from the west, it was almost like reading something from another country. I love Beekeeper's Apprentice and am a huge fan of the Mary Russell/ Sherlock Holmes series. I haven't read Water for Elephants, I think I am a bit afraid of the adult content.:tongue_smilie:
Stacia
I have read The Beekeeper's Apprentice & thought it was great. I haven't read the other two, but I do plan to read The Help. I've never had any interest in Water for Elephants and will probably not ever read it.
Guest
LOVED The Help. Have read it twice and going to see it with my best friend on Friday. Didn't love Water for Elephants, although I did really like the movie. Haven't read the other book.

ChristusG
I read The Help and enjoyed it. Never read the Beekeeper's Apprentice. I got about halfway through Water for Elephants and just couldn't keep with it. The movie was amazing though.

Caitilin
I would highly recommend The Beekeeper's Apprentice, I enjoyed the entire series. Love these! Really great characters, well-written, faithful to the Holmes tradition, but shiny new also.:001_smile:
Kelly1730
Enjoyed The Help. Took it with me on our trip and finished it on the plane on the way home. Haven't read the other two.

Mom in High Heels
Love, love, loved Water for Elephants. I was ridiculously happy that they stuck pretty close to the book when they made the movie. I like both other books, but WfE was my favorite. There's no particular reason, it just was. Forget-Me-Not
Really enjoyed The Help. Haven't read the other two. I've heard WFE is pretty racy, so I have no plans to read it.
LostSurprise
Don't really like Water for Elephants. The story was okay. I enjoyed the circus information and the old man sections. The writer made some new writer mistakes and it showed (to me). The Beekeeper's Apprentice was a nice, light read. I haven't read The Help but I'm looking forward to it. That would be my choice of the three.
Cindy in C-ville
Thanks, ladies! I think I'll reserve all three at the library and see which comes in first!
HLDoll
I've only read 2, The Help and Water for Elephants. Water for Elephants didn't do anything for me at all, but I loved The Help.
