HollyBee
Someone at dh's work is selling a brand new, in the box, iPad 1 for $400. It's 64MB (at least, that's what the email said--I'm thinking she meant 64GB, right?) and 3G enabled. Is this a good deal versus forking out for a new iPad 2? Is the iPad 2 so much better than the iPad 1?
ChrissySC
To feel more comfortable with your decision make a list. Compare the first generation with the second generation. I would look at the price of a refurbished first generation too. You will find that it is an acceptable price. :) You need to decide if you will miss anything in terms of access or function that you would want on a second generation. Apps like them both. :) However, I do know that a 2nd gen has better adaptations for the visual appearance of some apps that were originally designed for the smaller set screens. I could list a few other tinsy things that changed, including hardware. But, make a comparison yourself.
Beth in OH
I think it's a fair deal as long as it's truly new. That's the price for which Sam's club was selling the 32 gig + 3G ipad 1 last week when I bought mine :D Since I've never even had an ipod before, I decided the cheaper version 1 was better than the souped up version 2. BTW, I love it. Apple works the way my brain works--the logic is so easy for me to use! BTW, the cheapest ATT plan for 3G is around $15.00 per month for 250 MB of data. You don't have to buy an extended contract, though. I like having the 3G option, but I haven't bought any data as of yet. So far, WIFI has been adequate for me. sparrow
I think it's a good price, but I would inquire about AppleCare (Apple's warranty plan) with the person selling it. If it is still under AppleCare, the price is even better :001_smile:.
