RahRah
....like Strand in NYC or Wonderbooks in Frederick, MD. I'll be traveling MO to FL in October and would like to incorporate some stops to great used book stores along the way if any exist on our routes, from St. Louis through Orlando. We can make pit-stops up to 30-minutes off the main routes! Thanks!
QueenCat
If you're coming down I-24, stop in McKays in Nashville. It is out of this world as far as used book stores are concerned.
RahRah
Oh, I should post the route/cities we'll pass, or could take as an option if something is looking really good, huh? St. Louis, MO Nashville, TN Chattanooga, TN Atlanta, GA Macon, GA Gainesville, FL Ocala, FL Orlando, FL Alternatively, we could re-route and hit: Lexington, KY Louisville, KY OR Tallashasse, FL Mobile, AL Jackson, MS Memphis, TN ------------------- I'll check out the Nashville store if they're online - thanks! kathkath
There is also a mckays in Chattanooga. If you head to the one in Nash you can bring old books to trade for store credit. They should just be in decent condition.
kathkath
There's nothing to see online re mckAys except hours. It is a browsing store not a call to check titles store. Books are well organized by subject. Only plan to trade books if you want to be there an hour, which is no problem for me lol.
ourjourneys
I think you should go through Nashville and Chattanooga - stop at McKays in both cities. Chattanooga Mckays will be a 10 minute detour from your route, but it is going to be well worth it. You may want to spend the day :)
jenL
Too bad you aren't coming through the Charlotte, NC area. There's an awesome homeschool used bookstore in Stallings, NC called The Homeschool Room. www.thehomeschoolroom.net

Seriously, you could get lost in that store. http://www.chamblinbookmine.com/default.aspx PS go to the one on Roosevelt. Even though I haven't been there in many years, I spent many hours in there as a teen.
