elegantlion
I'm going to have ds work on current events 1-2x/week (during our English time, to build research/writing skills). I'm looking for ideas on how to do this, nothing too major. I'm thinking of using the site studentnewsdaily.com to start. Have him pick a few events, list them on a list type timeline, print a map and mark the area of the world. Maybe do five events a week, then write a few sentences or paragraph on one event/article. I'd like to start with a form where he'd fill out the cite information, kind of a beginning way of learning to cite a source. Has anyone seen or made their own form? Other ideas for website for current events. I don't really want to let him loose on traditional news sites yet, especially our local, because they seem so depressing and crime focused. I'd like to have a good world resource and a regional source, we're in MO. We don't get the paper and I'd prefer him use more internet sources anyway. Any ideas on forms? Sites? Etc? Tips? Thanks.
