Cindy in C-ville
Grace finished her Assoc.Degree at our CC in May and will be applying to colleges this fall. We had *hoped* to be in Malaysia with Heather next year, sniff, sniff, pout, pout, but God had other plans and we are settling into our new home, new community, new life. (Thanks Brigid, Cheryl, and other Raleigh gals!) So, we're putting together a "gap year" plan for Grace and would like for her to find an internship - either paid or unpaid. She's a STEM kind of a gal with a real focus on mathematics. She tutored math at her CC and could do something like that, but I'd like her to have exposure to a different type of experience, possibly in engineering. Any ideas? TIA! Brenda in FL
I'm going to send this on to my dh. I'm pretty sure they use interns. He's in the medical device field. Any interest there? Oh wait - did you want her to travel away from home for this opportunity??
Cindy in C-ville
Thanks, Brenda! Not away from home for an internship. We're hoping for a travel opportunity second semester.
asta
Raleigh... The research triangle website lists these as the major employers there. It looks like there are a few who would fit in the STEM arena (might be worth checking out). With all of the cutbacks, you never know - someone may be willing to take on a free laborer. a
