LadyR
My ds is entering 5th grade and has excellent printing skills but cannot write or read cursive. We are starting BJU distance learning in the fall but I'm thinking I should get a lower grade (than 5th) for Handwriting. Is this is a good idea and which grade level would be good for him? (p.s. I believe BJU allows a move up or down by 2 grade levels)
hmschooling
3rd grade is the first entirely cursive book. After that is mostly copywork in cursive but not instruction. 2nd transitions in the last half of the book and 3rd also offers instruction mixed with cursive copywork. I really like BJU print and cursive but for older students learning it I prefer Cheerful Cursive. If you have to get everything BJU to do it, I'd just get the 3rd grade book. HTH!
